Florals? For Spring? Groundbreaking

This article was written before the United States went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. Last week, all that was on my mind was shopping for my upcoming (now canceled) trip to Palm Springs. It’s crazy how things can change so much and so fast. I’m hoping everyone stays healthy and safe during this challenging time. We’ll be curating articles to help you alleviate stress and deal with boredom, so stay tuned! In the meantime, here’s a link of helpful coronavirus resources. Xo-Kristie  My favorite way to get ready for the upcoming season is by incorporating springtime florals into my wardrobe. One of my favorite things about traveling is having the option of dressing differently than in my everyday life. This past December I spent time in New York City and Massachusetts, which meant shopping for winter attire. Before I left Los Angeles, I bought a Rachel Zoe leopard print coat, faux leather leggings, combat boots, a new black beanie along with a few more pieces. The thing with visiting the East Coast during the winter is that the weather is so unpredictable. I’ve been there when it’s below zero and when it’s in the upper 50s. This vacation, it was ideal—not so cold that walkingRead More →

A Guide to Choosing The Right Boots This Season + 90 of My Favorites!

There’s nothing I love more than buying new boots for the autumn and winter seasons. I grew up on the East Coast, so having a collection in an assortment of styles was a rite of passage. Not much has changed since I moved to Los Angeles—except maybe I invest in booties (so I can wear them all year long) more so than over-the-knee or thigh-high. This time of the year, however, is when I start getting ready for my trip back East for the holidays. And with that comes, winter shopping. Here’s my guide to choosing the right boots this season, with 90 pairs ofRead More →

Bell Bottoms and Snakeskin (Plus a Fun Way to Spend a Sunday Afternoon in L.A.)

The bohemian era of the 1960s is one of my favorite decades and for the longest time I’ve wanted a pair of perfectly fitting dark wash bell bottoms. This past April I got invited to an Alice and Olivia cocktail party and I splurged on a pair to wear to the get-together. When I tried them on the cut was perfect (too perfect to not purchase), but the length was super-long. Instead of putting them back, I took them to my tailor and had them hemmed for an extra $20 dollars and it was well worth the investment. The day of the party, I wasn’tRead More →

Vacation Style: Everything I Wore On My Latest Trip

I would describe my vacation style as having a laid back California flair mixed with bohemian vibes. The truth is, it appears to be a lot more effortless than it actually is, and a lot of planning goes into it—especially when I’m traveling. Recently, I talked about my packing tips, and I mentioned why I photograph each outfit before I place it in my suitcase. Doing this helps me determine what to bring (and what I need to purchase before I take off). During my latest trip, when I was deciding what to wear each day, I reached for my phone and scrolled through theRead More →

East Coast Trip

At the start of the summer, I visited Arizona and now I’m getting ready to head to my childhood home in New England. I’ll be staying in Massachusetts and then vacationing at the beach in Connecticut. (You can read about my summers at the CT shore here.) Aside from spending time with Billy and my family, I’m looking forward to visiting the places I frequented while I was growing up. There are so many, but here are a few that are on my itinerary: a boat ride to Block Island, shopping in Olde Mistick Village, having Sunday brunch at Water’s Edge Beach Resort and SpaRead More →
