20 Instagram Accounts That Epitomize The Bohemian Lifestyle

Like most people, when I’m bored, procrastinating, or in search of inspiration I’ll hop on Instagram and scroll through my feed. One theme that tops my list are images that represent living a bohemian lifestyle. Whether it’s style inspo, vintage shopping, travel, mindfulness, crystals, or decor—these 20 IG accounts are where I’ll head to get my daily dose of free spirit imagery, tips, and motivation which helps me live a more carefree lifestyle.

In search of more Insta inspo? Here are 10 accounts worth following that feature style, decor, sunsets, and more. And for those obsessed with the 90s, here’s a list of 20 that best represent the decade

Jewelry

Natalie B Jewelry creates gems for the free spirit. Her line features a number of unique collections with various themes (like pearl, religious, and vintage), and also personalized pieces.

Another hippie favorite of mine is Child of Wild. Not only do they carry their own line, but they also sell jewels from a ton of other unique jewelry designers like Kozakh and LA Kaiser. Plus, they have meditation and ritual kits, a home decor collection and many more gifts for those that embrace a counterculturist lifestyle.

Clothing Labels

I first became familiar with this line back in 2011 when they only carried intimates. I ended up purchasing a teal laser-cut bra and it became one of my favorites. Fast forward to now and For Love and Lemons carries a total of five collections: ready-to-wear, knitwear, swim, Lil Lemons, and intimates.

Since 2001, Principessa has been the place to go when strolling Abbot Kinney Boulevard in pursuit of womens bohemian fashion. They have a variety of high-end flower child inspired labels like Blue Life, Faithfull The Brand, and Flynn Skye.

Bohemian Style

When I’m searching for bohemian style inspiration, I’ll scroll though the Queen of Coachella’s instagram feed, because Vanessa Hudgens wears it better than anyone.

Nicole Richie’s Instagram is filled with photos of her free spirit California style, and she occasionally posts items from her House of Harlow 1960 collection.

Vintage Shopping

The Melrose Trading Post is an open air flea market that carries new and used merchandise. It’s an optimal spot to spend a Sunday afternoon browsing for vintage finds.

Hidden Treasures is one of the best vintage shops in Los Angeles county. Actually, it’s more of a costume shop where you can score one-of-a-kind pieces from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Crystals and Plants

A few years ago I started collecting crystals for healing and decorative purposes. On my quest to add to my array, I came upon the Etsy shop TheEarthsGems.

Living in Los Angeles, there’s no shortage of flower shops and markets, but Farm Girl Flowers is where I prefer to order my arrangements. From their colorful bouquets and the cute burlap wrap they arrive in, to the speedy on demand delivery service; these beauties stand out which makes them an ideal gift to give (or receive).

Recipes

I went out and purchased Jeanine Donofrio’s first vegetarian cookbook after following her Instagram account, and I’m so glad I did. This is my go-to when I’m searching for something delicious to make for Billy and I. Next, I can’t wait to try Love & Lemons Every Day, which was recognized as one of the best springtime cookbooks by The New York Times. She also posts a ton of recipes on her website.

Ms Vegan shares recipes, tips, and news related to living a vegan lifestyle (although the account is for anyone who enjoys tasty food). Some of my favorites are how to save money on a vegan diet, a recipe for Teriyaki Cauli-Wings, and how to have a vegan Thanksgiving.

Bath & Beauty

Little Shop of Oils is my favorite brand for soothing homeopathic products, and I love gifting these goods to my moon child friends. The bottles are adorable, but what’s inside is even better. You can pick from candles, essential oil blends, mists, ritual kits, and pins. This is what helps me get by when Mercury is in retrograde.

I’m always looking for vegan beauty brands so when I came upon Salt by Hendrix, an Australian label, I instantly hit the follow button. After a few days of seeing the eye-catching bottles show up in my newsfeed, I was hooked and had to make a purchase—now, I’m even more obsessed. My favorites are Stardust Tonic and Magical Rose Illuminating Elixir Creme.

Travel

One of my greatest joys in life is traveling. Of course, I’d like to do more of it (who wouldn’t), but when I’m sitting at home dreaming of the next place to visit, I’ll head to Travel and Leisure and look at the gorgeous photographs. This gives me the inspiration to start planning a trip.

VibeLaboratory’s collection of photos showcases gypsy decor and globetrotting pics from all over the world. If I had to define this account in one word, it would be “wanderlust”.

Lifestyle

I was introduced to Mind Body Green’s blog years ago and fell in love with the health conscious site. As I wake up each morning, I read about meditation techniques, new recipes, clean beauty, health studies, and other lifestyle topics. I also follow their Instagram which features tips and motivational quotes in colorful graphics.

Between Lana Del Rey’s style and soulful sound, she represents living a modern day bohemian lifestyle better than anyone. I could see her making music and living in the counterculture of Laurel Canyon during the 1960s.

Art and Decor

When I’m looking for interior design inspiration, my go to is Hippie.Tribe. This Instagram is full of eccentric and gypsy inspired spaces that will make you want to redesign your home—or at least update it.

I became a fan of fashion designer Matthew Williamson when I first laid eyes on his whimsical dresses. Fast forward to his bohemian lifestyle line filled with wallpaper, candles, stationary, and lamps that all take on his signature style of colorful prints and patterns. Scrolling through his Insta, you can find images of his merchandise mixed with pictures of his interior design portfolio.
