One of my favorite things about traveling is having the option of dressing differently than in my everyday life. This past December I spent time in New York City and Massachusetts, which meant shopping for winter attire. Before I left Los Angeles, I bought a Rachel Zoe leopard print coat, faux leather leggings, combat boots, a new black beanie along with a few more pieces. The thing with visiting the East Coast during the winter is that the weather is so unpredictable. I’ve been there when it’s below zero and when it’s in the upper 50s. This vacation, it was ideal—not so cold that walking around felt more like a mission than something enjoyable, but still chilly enough to feel like winter. My solution for dealing with the weather is to dress in layers (and wear comfortable shoes), especially if I’m going from morning to night without stopping back at my hotel. Here’s everything I wore on my five-day trip to the Big Apple!
Red leopard print cardigan (similar here and here) | Gap grey v-neck tee | Levi’s Mile High Super Skinny Jeans | Nasty Gal faux fur coat (similar here and here) | Nasty Gal boots | Henri Bendel handbag (similar here and here) | Frye fiddler hat (similar here) | Rebecca Minkoff necklace (similar here)
